Gabon/ The Prime Minister of the Transition ends the freeze on civil service recruitment

Order No. 0390/PM/MFPMSPRE of 08/20/2018 freezing recruitment, examinations and competitions, tenure, advancement and reclassification after internship in the Civil Service was suspended on November 24, 2023 by the Head of Government of the transition Raymond Ndong Sima.

It is with the aim of allowing optimal control of the evolution of the State payroll, and better management of human resources that recruitment, exams and competitions were frozen in August 2018 by the old regime. The said measure was supposed to last just 3 years, but was extended to the chagrin of the population. 5 years later, it is the transitional government which puts an end to this decision described as unfair by certain young people trapped by unemployment.

This November 24, 2023, Prime Minister Raymond Ndong Sima published decree number 00009/PM/MFPRC of November 24, 2023 unfreezing recruitment, tenure, advancement, internships and reclassifications within the Civil Service. A relief for thousands of Gabonese people.

A month after taking power, the President of the Transition, Brice Oligui Nguema, instructed his government to receive files from job seekers in the various ministries. More than 40,000 job or integration seekers have submitted their files to the human resources department of the ministries requested.
