The Head of State pays tribute to the late Pierre Mamboundou Mamboundou and the late Paul-Marie Yembit

Ndendé, December 9, 2023 – After staying in the province of Ogooué Maritime where he inaugurated the Batanga LPG plant and communicated with the people of Port-Gentilla, the President of the Transition, President of the Republic , Head of State, HE General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema arrived today in the province of Ngounié for a 48-hour stay.
Welcomed with fervor and jubilation like his previous trips including military honors and crowd baths, the President of the Transition went to the Dola department in Ndendé accompanied by the First Lady Zita Oligui Nguema.
In this locality, the Head of State bowed before the mausoleums of the late Paul-Marie Yembit, 1st Vice-President of the Gabonese Republic from 1961 to 1966, and Pierre Mamboundou Mamboundou, former mayor of the commune of Ndendé and leader of the Gabonese opposition, respectively died on January 21, 1978 and October 15, 2011.
Through this tribute marked by the laying of wreaths, the President of the Transition wished to express his gratitude to the illustrious deceased and worthy sons of Gabon who marked the political history of our country.
Furthermore, General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema spoke with
local populations at the Independence Square. Unpublished exchanges which focused mainly on the merits of the liberation coup of August 30, 2023, the proposals of the notability for
successfully complete this Transition, as well as the difficulties encountered in the Dola department, particularly in the areas of health, education and the human-wildlife conflict.
On the last point cited, the President of the Transition for whom humanity occupies a special place, instructed the release of detainees who had been arrested in the context of the said conflict. In the same order, HE Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema urged the populations to defend themselves and
protect their property.
Regarding the recent demands of the Gabon Energy and Water Company which led to a disruption of water and electricity supply, the President of the Transition expressed his indignation during his speech, hammering at those responsible for said structure to prioritize the
minimum well-being of consumers and demonstrate responsibility in
