The Tamil Nadu Public Health Department has confirmed that 87 percent of the people in the state have developed immunity against Covid-19. This was announced by the Director of the department, Selvavinayagam, who emphasized the need for increased medical surveillance across the state due to the increasing incidence in neighboring Kerala.
The department is currently observing a rise in infections in Kerala, and it is unclear whether it is the same strain of the virus that has already spread in Tamil Nadu or a new mutation. As a result, steps have been taken to intensify medical surveillance across Tamil Nadu. RTPCR tests will be conducted for those who exhibit corona symptoms, and the number of daily tests will be increased if necessary.
Selvavinayagam reassured the public that Tamil Nadu has the experience of dealing with the spread of severe corona infection and bringing it under control. Therefore, there is no need for fear or panic regarding the spread of corona infection in Kerala.
