US Stock Market Update: Mixed Trends as Dow Jones Adds 0.15% at Close of Trading

Stocks in the United States closed in a mixed trend at the end of trading on Friday, with the Dow Jones adding 0.15% to reach an all-time high.

The S&P 500 and NASDAQ also experienced price increases in certain sectors, with gains in industries such as technology and healthcare, pushing the indices higher. However, there were also declines in sectors such as energy and consumer goods, leading the indexes down.

Among the best performers in the S&P 500 were First Solar, which saw a 6.58% increase, Steel Dynamics with a 4.52% increase, and Costco Wholesale, which rose by 4.45%. On the other hand, the worst performers included Exelon, which fell by 6.36%, Maison Solutions Inc, which saw a massive 83.56% decrease, and Aadi Biosciences, which weakened by 56.42%.

In the NASDAQ index, iCoreConnect Inc, Varika Pharmaceuticals, and Virfax Pharmaceuticals were the top gainers, with increases of 73.47%, 61.97%, and 62.99% respectively. Meanwhile, Chanson International Holding, Maison Solutions Inc, and Aadi Biosciences were among the weakest stocks on the NASDAQ, recording significant declines.

Overall, the number of declining stocks exceeded the number of stocks that closed higher in trading on the New York Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq Stock Exchange.

When it comes to individual stocks, Boeing, Intel, and Salesforce were among the top gainers in trading on Friday, while Verizon Communications, Johnson & Johnson, and McDonald’s were among the worst performers.

In commodity trading, gold futures and crude oil futures saw mixed results, with gold futures losing 0.56% and the price of crude oil futures for delivery in January increasing by 0.03%. The EUR/USD pair also saw a decline of 0.88%, while the USD/JPY pair completed an increase of 0.26%.

Overall, the trading day ended with a mixed trend in the United States, with the Dow Jones reaching an all-time high, and various sectors experiencing both gains and losses.
