Ten shows to experience Christmas in the seats of theaters and auditoriums

Two very different circus shows, the traditional waltzes and polkas from Vienna or the Christmas concerts by Joan Dausà and Mishima are some of the proposals that Girona’s theaters and auditoriums will host in the coming days. Music, theatre, circus and dance complement the wide range of popular culture that enlivens the Christmas festivities, such as the Pastorets, the living nativity scenes or the recovered Song of the Sibyl.

L’Auditorium of the Ateneo de Banyoles host this afternoon Jazznadal, with first swords of the genre such as Manel Camp on the piano; Llibert Fortuny, on saxophone; and Mireia Farrés, on the trumpet, who will perform Christmas carols, along with classical pieces by Mozart and Haydn in a jazz style

The Mundial de la Bisbal theater will host on December 22 the circus of the company Eia. The collective, a reference in the sector, will present Nuye, a show for six acrobats that captures our coming and going between ourselves and others, in a constant search to complete ourselves.

The tenth edition of the Great Christmas Circus in Girona changes its setting: from the Fontajau pavilion to a large tent on the esplanade of the Cup. The show, with 25 international artists, can be seen in twelve performances from December 25 to 30.

The Vallès Symphony Orchestra, directed by Xavier Puig and accompanied by the soprano Laura Brasó, will bring all the energy of Strauss waltzes and polkas and Central European popular music to the Girona Auditorium on December 29. Viennese waltzes, polkas, mazurkas and dances will also be played on January 1 in the traditional recital of the Terres de Marca Orchestra at Espai Ter in Torroella de Montgrí.

Mishima will return to La Mirona de Salt on December 29 with his traditional Christmas concert, which this year will stop in five Catalan cities.

Joan Daus is also on a Christmas tourà: intimate performances in piano and voice format, where he reviews his songbook and sings Christmas carols, with an appointment at El Jardí theater in Figueres for January 4.

The Bet of the Municipal Theater of Girona for Christmas is in which one of the most awarded shows in the country’s family scene, signed by the Ortiga banyolins. In the various sessions scheduled from January 3 to 7, the public will enter a tent to enjoy an immersive show of puppets and object theater that proposes different visions of the same story.

The company La Planeta, which celebrates twenty years of history this year, is bringing back one of its most successful shows for family audiences on January 3 and 4. It is about Don’t cry, Fool! starring an intrepid girl, a greedy king and a giant gardener, the Terrible Fool.

Also in Torroella, but on January 7, another classic: the concert of Reis de la Gio Symphonia, which directed by Marc Timón from Emporda will offer the program film classics, with movie soundtracks.

Xiula presents his latest project on December 30 at the Girona Auditorium, Babynova. The members of the family music group will access a laboratory where, with the help of the public, they will try to generate a new way of life that can overcome the challenges of the world we have had to live in.

Dance will also be present for Christmas at the Girona Auditorium with the return of the Ballet de Barcelona with The Nutcracker, a great production inspired by Catalan modernism that will be seen on January 7.

The tip: “Light string” in the village of books

Beyond theater shows and concerts, the Roseland Musical company proposes the show for December 28 in the Plaça Major de Calonge String of light, an immersive installation for family living. Inside a tent, Queen Gaspara will welcome children into her home to tell them the secrets of the most magical night of the year. In the reading area, children can pick up books and read on their own, but also out loud in front of others.
