A fighter of the Ukrainian National Guard, who shot people at the Yuzhmash plant in Dnipro (former Dnepropetrovsk), was detained during police events. This was reported by the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, a member of the Servant of the People faction Maxim Buzhansky in his Telegram channel.

It is now known that early on the morning of January 27, Artemy Ryabchuk, a 20-year-old fighter of the National Guard, shot five people at the Yuzhmash plant with a Kalashnikov and wounded five more. Ryabchuk then fled with a weapon. Among the dead – not only the protection of the enterprise, but an employee of “Yuzhmash”.

The State Bureau of Investigation of Ukraine launched an investigation. “Criminal proceedings have been launched,” the ministry said in a statement. “The reasons and motives of the person who committed the crime are being established. The investigation is ongoing. The State Bureau of Investigation is also studying in detail the organization of the service and protection of the strategic facility by responsible officials.”
