Lives dedicated to the enormous commitment to providing justice, with adherence to ethics and dedication to the people, were recognized this morning at the Mausoleum of the Martyrs of Artemisa, on the 50th Anniversary of the creation of the Popular Courts and the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic.
Geovanys Pérez Vichot, president of the Bauta Municipal Court, with more than three decades in this system, received the 50th Anniversary distinction; Meanwhile, a group of workers received the Jesús Menéndez Larrondo medal, from the Central Workers of Cuba, for their relevant contribution to the judicial service.
One of the recipients was precisely Madelín Perea Gordillo, president of the Popular Provincial Court of Artemisa, who summarized the intense struggle in recent years. Faced with the problem of completing the staff of judges and workers, she referred to the links with the University of Artemisa in the hiring of its law students.
Furthermore, “this relationship has facilitated the teaching categorization of our judges, based on their work in the Municipal University Centers.” The judge also highlighted the impact on the territory of the new procedural laws and the monitoring of these bodies on their effective implementation.
Likewise, he highlighted the computerization of judicial processes, and with it, the arrival of the electronic judicial file; the implementation of the new statistical system and institutional communication as a way to show to the world, “the task that we carry out with great honor, on behalf of the people of Cuba.”
Together with Gladys Martínez Verdecia, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Party and its First Secretary in the territory, and Ricardo Concepción Rodríguez, the governor, Perea Gordillo presented diplomas to those who have accumulated 10, 20, 30 and 40 uninterrupted years in the Artemiseño courts, when the 182nd anniversary of the birth of Major General Ignacio Agramonte y Loynaz, jurist and symbol of the union’s shame, is celebrated.
