The England cricket team is going to tour India for a 5-match Test series. Accordingly, the first Test match between these two teams is going to start on 25th. This series is considered to be of utmost importance as it will count towards the Test Championship.
India’s last Test series loss at home was against England. After the Test series held in 2012, India has been unbeaten against any team in the world, including England, at home.
On the other hand, under the leadership of Ben Stokes, England has been accumulating series of victories by playing as aggressively as T20 in Test cricket. So England is going to play in this series with the hope that they can achieve it in India as it happened in 2012.
In this case, the former player of the team, Monty Panesar, said that England should get out its backbone batsman Virat Kohli as soon as possible to defeat the Indian team. He said in a recent interview that Virat Kohli should be sledged by England bowlers by calling it ‘soccer’ as the reason for India’s continued defeat in ICC series;-
“Play to his ego and trap him mentally. And England players should tell him that you are chokers when it comes to ICC knockouts. England bowlers should say something and start sledging Virat Kohli because Ben Stokes has won ODIs and T20 World Cups but Virat Kohli has not.” Saying that will hurt Virat Kohli mentally and demoralize him.”
