A two-thousand-year-old knife with one of the oldest runic inscriptions was found in Denmark.

Archaeologists have found an eight-centimeter iron knife on the island of Funen in Denmark, which is about 2 thousand years old.

The weapon was marked with the runic inscription hirila. This word is supposedly translated from Proto-Scandinavian as “small sword.”

The runic inscription became one of the oldest in the country.
