The mayor of Yerevan, Tigran Avinyan, urges the residents of the capital to use their cars “only in case of extreme necessity”.

“Dear citizens of Yerevan,

taking into account the renewed snowfall on January 27, we urge you to drive vehicles only if absolutely necessary and exclusively with winter tires.

Precipitation continued throughout the day, so please use caution given the high risk of traffic on the streets.

I also want to inform you that snow removal works have been started in the administrative districts of the capital, parallel to the resumption of snowfall since last night, and are continuing in the conditions of falling snow.

Due to the possible accumulation of cars on the streets, the parking lots in zones A and B of the capital will operate free of charge today and tomorrow, as the need for unexpected parking may arise.”
