PMDR distributed Ukrainian aid to 28 fishermen – Agro Plovdiv

State Fund “Agriculture” – Payment Agency (DFZ-RA) paid out in
month of January nearly BGN 2 million (BGN 1,945,097.84) to 51 beneficiaries under the Program for
maritime work and fisheries 2014-2020 (PMDR).

28 beneficiaries received BGN 1,406,922 under measure 5.3 – “Measures for market supply”. The financial grant help is granted in the form of compensations to mitigate the consequences of a war against Russia Ukraine on fishing
activities
limiting the impact of the shock on the market and the chain of
supplies of fishing and aquaculture products.

BGN 316,836 were paid to 21 beneficiaries under measure 1.9 -” Temporary
cessation of fishing activity as a result of Russia’s war of aggression
against Ukraine, which threatens the security of fishing activities or
hampers the economic viability of fishing operations”. This one
aid is in the form of compensations to owners of fishing vessels and fishermen who
have temporarily suspended fishing activities due to the consequences of the war in
Ukraine.

DFZ paid BGN 188,639.84 to a beneficiary under measure 2.1. – “Diversification of
the economic activities within the “Fisheries” sector of the Strategy for led by
the local development communities of MIRG “Pazardzhik”. The financial grant
aid is granted for the modernization of a building for the production of fodder / food / for fish.

BGN 32,700 was transferred to the Municipality of Aksakovo under measure 3.1.1. “Ecological and
sustainable fishing area’ from the Strategy for Community-Led Local Development
of MIRG “Varna, District Asparuhovo – Beloslav – Aksakovo”. The gratuitous one
financial assistance is granted for research in the five directions of the European
Blue Growth strategy and creation of an interactive map. For the purpose of monitoring and
protection of the environment and in particular marine and aquatic wealth has been developed
electronic platform for receiving pollution and irregularity signals from
the citizens. The electronic platform will support interaction between
municipalities, regional structures, businesses and citizens in the field of protection of
the environment and the development of the blue economy.
