SRC informs:
“During the control activities carried out on the basis of the data received in the internal security department of the SRC of the Republic of Armenia, the goods declared under the “export” customs procedure (different used parts of special equipment) and the attached documents were subjected to customs control at the Meghri customs point-section of the South Customs Department of the SRC of the Republic of Armenia.
As a result of the video inspection of the exported products, the employees of the Internal Security Department of the SRC had a reasonable suspicion that the goods being exported by three trucks were scrap metal, the export of which, RA Government No. 994 dated June 22, 2023, “a number of goods from the Republic of Armenia to the Eurasian Economic It is prohibited by the decision “On applying a temporary ban on transportation to the countries of the Union and export to third countries”. An attempt to export about 66 tons of scrap metal was prevented.
A double examination was appointed for the exported goods. It was found that the exported goods are not suitable for further intended use. A report on the violation of customs rules was drawn up regarding the incident and the materials were sent to the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Armenia in order to make a criminal assessment and ensure the further process in accordance with the law. Criminal proceedings have been initiated.”
