About 200 trucks loaded with Armenian products bound for Russia have left the border of Armenia, but have not yet passed formalities at the Verin Lars checkpoint. the obstacle is weather conditions, Vahan Hakobyan, customs attaché attached to the RA Embassy in Russia, presented the situation in a conversation with “Armenpress”.
“As of today, we have about 200 trucks that have left the borders of Armenia and have not yet been formalized in Lars. Some of them have already crossed the border, they are receiving formalities on the Russian side, the other part are either in the blocked section on the Georgian side, or have already crossed and are waiting to continue the process,” said Hakobyan.
The customs attaché assured that the only obstacle is the weather conditions, traffic for trucks is often restricted due to snow and ice in the Khachi mountain pass.
“As of now, it is limited. After the snow removal works, we expect that the road will be passable again for trucks,” said Hakobyan.
According to him, there are perishables, but not many at the moment.
And the trucks coming from Russia are few, a few dozen, most of them have passed.
The customs attaché noted: “At the moment we don’t have any such problem to worry about. Everything is carried out in a normal mode, our cargoes are formalized and cross the border of Russia.”
