João Aurélio broke the tie at 90+2′ and Madeirans equaled Aves in second place in League 2

Nacional beat Vilaverdense this Saturday, 3-2, for the 21st round of League 2, in a game that was only decided in compensation.

A strong entry from the islanders bore fruit in the 5th minute, with Carlos Daniel putting Nacional ahead. However, after threats from Gonçalo Teixeira and Laércio, Vilaverdense captain, André Soares, equalized (26′).

Until the break, the Madeirans managed to regain the lead on the scoreboard, through Danilovic (40′), but in the second half they would see their opponent react, again by André Soares: goal in the 69th minute.

In a balanced match, the last minutes were frantic, with Nacional looking for the three points, which reached 90+2′: after a cross hit the bar, João Aurélio scored the winning goal.

With this result, Nacional returns to second place in League 2, sharing the same points as Aves (40), three less than leader Santa Clara. Vilaverdense is second to last, with the same points as the second to last, Leixões (17), who has one game less.
