Hasina Mumtaz, the mother of Professor Shibli Rubaiyat-ul-Islam, the chairman of Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC), the country’s capital market regulator, has passed away (Innalillahi wa Innailaihi Rajiun).

BSEC executive director and spokesperson Mohammad Rezaul Karim confirmed this to reporters on Sunday (February 18).

It is known that Hasina Mumtaz, mother of Professor Shibli Rubaiyat-ul-Islam, breathed her last at 6:30 pm on Sunday due to cardiac arrest. He was 79 years old at the time of his death. On Monday (February 19), the funeral of the late Baad Zohar will be held at the Eidgah Maidan in Dhanmondi.

Hasina Mumtaz was a popular singer of the sixties and seventies. He received the National Award for Special Contribution to Music. Her husband Rafiqul Islam Khan was the Managing Director of National Bank Limited.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC), Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), Central Depository of Bangladesh Limited (CDBL), Bangladesh Institute of Capital Markets (BICM), Bangladesh Academy for Securities Markets have expressed concern over the death of Hasina Mumtaz. (BASM), Central Counter Party Bangladesh Limited (CCBL), DSE Brokers Association of Bangladesh (DBA), CEO Forum, Bangladesh Merchant Bankers Association (BMBA), Capital Market Stabilization Fund (CMSF), Association of Asset Management Companies and Mutual Funds ( AAMCMF), Bangladesh Association of Publicly Listed Companies (BAPLC), Capital Market Journalists Forum (CMGF), Bangladesh Punjibazar Binoyogkari Oikya Parishad and other organizations expressed condolences.
