Comilla Victorians pacer Mustafizur Rahman suffered a head injury during practice. He was immediately taken to the hospital. Thankfully the CityScan did not detect anything serious. For now, this pacer has been kept under observation with five stitches.

The medical department of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed the matter to RisingBD, ‘Mustafiz’s CT scan report is good. No internal injuries. But because of the head injury, he will be under 24-hour observation.

How serious is the injury? BCB medical department said that there is no internal injury, which has gone outside. Stitches may take up to a week to dry.

There is nothing not to play. But since it’s a head injury… usually if there are stitches, we rule it out for 4-5 days. That’s not the point now. Now it will be seen if the head injury is over. Let’s clear up the concussion thing first, then I’ll see. The scan is good for now, that’s the big thing.’

According to the BCB medical department, if there are no complications of concussion when the stitches are clear, you can enter the field in this BPL only. The incident took place during practice at Zahoor Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium on Sunday (February 18). Comilla was practicing since 10 am. The important pacer of the team was hit by the ball there.

Earlier, Comilla Victorians physio SM Zahidul Islam Sajal said that Mustafiz is out of danger. According to the statement released by the team, Mustafiz has been scanned. There was no internal bleeding. Now he is getting stitches on his head. This pacer is currently under close supervision.

Mustafiz was returning to the bowling mark after bowling in the net. At that time, when Comilla’s coach Mohammad Salauddin turned his head, a batsman’s ball hit him on the forehead. He immediately collapsed.

Mostafiz is one of the strengths in Comilla’s bowling line. He kept the team in a favorable position almost in the match by bowling effectively in the death overs. He has taken 11 wickets in 9 matches so far.
