In the consumer market of Artsakh, the 12-month inflation (July 2023 compared to July 2022) was 20.8 percent, and 9.8 percent inflation was recorded in July compared to June of the current year.

According to Armenpress, this was reported by the National Statistical Service of Artsakh, adding that in July 2023, consumer prices increased by 7.6-10.3 percent compared to the previous month in all considered cities of Artsakh.

During the mentioned period, the prices in Stepanakert increased by 10.3 percent.

Prices of essential goods in Artsakh have risen sharply, especially after Azerbaijan restricted and then completely blocked traffic through the Lachin Corridor. In order to curb inflation, the government of Artsakh has set a maximum price limit for almost all essential goods. Despite the steps taken by the Government, the residents of Artsakh often speak out about the fact that products are sold at prices higher than the set maximum threshold. The government of Artsakh regularly addresses the topic by conducting inspections in the market, and also urges citizens to immediately inform the relevant authorities if they notice such cases.
