Within the framework of CaseKey 2023, the presentation of the initial public offering (IPO) case of Team Telecom Armenia took place. About 200 young people from different universities of Armenia got acquainted with all the details of the primary public placement and the teams were given the strategic task of developing the company. The teams will have only 72 hours to propose solutions.
Wishing success to the participants of the competition, Team Telecom Armenia General Director Hayk Yesayan noted that they have strategic projects, as a result of which the company will be able to increase the value of shares every year. “However, adopting an open and transparent way of working, we want to listen to proposals based on the analysis of young professionals. I am sure that many of them will be applicable and will help the first public telecom company to succeed,” he said.
Before the main CaseKey competition, student teams participate in trainings throughout the year and learn to solve problems of existing businesses. During the last 3 months, more than 230 students, 30 trainers, 15 universities and educational centers, a number of enterprises from different fields were involved in the competition, and more than 10 courses were held.
Arshak Karapetyan, the founder of the project, said: “It is extremely exciting to see that an Armenian company is conducting an initial public offering, and it is even more exciting that an organization with many years of experience is giving the opportunity to Armenian youth to become part of that process and offer their own vision of the company’s strategic development. We have been cooperating with Team Telecom Armenia for the third year already, and we are sure that this cooperation has its important place in the development of the educational and business sectors of Armenia. On behalf of our team, we wish the company success in this important task.”
The presentation of the business problem was followed by “Primary public placement: opportunities for the economy, company and society” panel discussion.
The speakers of the discussion were: Central Bank Vice President Armen Nurbekyan, Ameriabank Director of Investment Banking Operations Arno Mosikyan, Team Telecom Armenia General Director Hayk Yesayan, Byblos Bank Chief Executive Officer Hayk Stepanyan, Euro-Asian Stock Exchange Union Secretary General Konstantin Saroyan. The discussion was moderated by the director of the Financial System Stability and Regulation Department of the Central Bank of Armenia, Garegin Gevorgyan.
From the solutions offered by 22 participating teams, the best 6 will be selected and will be presented on August 6.
