A solar photovoltaic plant with a capacity of 5 MW was established in sunny Tallinn. The “Talin 2” plant, operating on an area of about 8 hectares, provides 10 million kilowatts of electricity per year, which is provided to the electric grids of Armenia.

“Tallinn 2” was founded by Karapet Ohanyan with his friends. The latter tells that when he and 4 friends were choosing the location, they learned that after Gegharkunik marz, the leader in terms of sunny days is the town of Talin in Aragatsotn marz. There is a lot of sun here, which is the main condition for the production of green energy.

The “Smart” station is controlled from a smartphone and remotely, which allows you to control the entire working process of the station and even turn it off.

The partner of the innovative station is Akba Bank, which emphasizes investments in ensuring the energy stability and independence of the country, popularizing green energy.

The founders of “Tallinn 2” also plan to build a greenhouse and refrigeration facility on the territory of the station. Karapet Ohanyan and his friends started another construction project in Dilijan, the partner of which is Akba Bank.

“I personally cooperate with Akba Bank for 20 years. When we started the solar plant project, we also applied to Akba on behalf of other banks, and we got the best conditions in the market. Moreover, when the events known to everyone – Covid and the war happened, the economic situation led to price increases and the implementation of this project became more expensive, but Akba acted like a true partner, re-loaned, increased our financial resources and we brought our project to its logical conclusion. We are also working with Akba Bank in our next projects,” says Karapet Ohanyan, one of the co-founders of the “Tallinn 2” solar photovoltaic plant.

The bank is controlled by the Central Bank of Armenia.
