On May 5, at 01:45, power unit No. 2 of the National Nuclear Power Plant stopped for annual planned preventive maintenance lasting 75 days, the Armenian Atomic Power Plant reports.

The following main works are planned to be carried out during the PNV-2023:

– medium repair of the reactor with full unloading of the active zone,

– overhaul of main circulation pumps number 2 and 3,

– overhaul of steam generators No. 2 and 3,

– current repair of turbine generators,

– current repair of steam turbines.

In addition to the main works mentioned above, works aimed at modernizing some security systems will be carried out, such as replacing the pipelines of the cooling system of responsible consumers.

In addition to the employees of the main workshops of the NPP, specialists with rich experience in repairing nuclear power plant systems and equipment from the Russian Federation, Croatia, the Czech Republic and other countries are involved in the planned works.

The repair process will be carried out under the supervision of specialists of the RA Nuclear Safety Regulation Committee.

The start-up of power unit No. 2 of the NPP is planned for July 18.
