Dainik Jugantar, Dainik Kalbela, BanglaNews24, BTV, Deepta Television, Yamuna Television and Channel I have won the first day’s game of ‘Cool-BSJA Media Cup Football-2024’ today (March 05). Seven matches were played on the opening day of the competition.
As in previous years, Cool-BSJA Media Cup Football is being organized under the patronage of Square Toiletries. This time also 32 media houses are participating in the game in knockout system by dividing into 8 groups. The champions of the 8 groups will advance to the quarter finals. Later, the tournament will end with semi-finals and finals.
The tournament was inaugurated by Sheikh Ashraf Ali, a member of Swadhin Bangla Football Team, Adeeb Bin Shahid, Brand Manager of Sponsor Square Toiletries Ltd. BSJA general secretary Anisur Rahman, tournament committee convener Raihan Al Mughani and tournament coordinator Arifur Rahman Babu were present at the time.
Jamuna Television got the biggest win in the first day’s game. 7-1 beat Dhaka Post. Bullet of the winning team was adjudged Man of the Match. Channel I beat GTV 3-1. Milan Mallik was the man of the match by scoring 2 goals. Deepta Television beat Machranga Television by 1-0. Anwar Hossain was Man of the Match.
The match between Bangladesh Television and Bangla Tribune spread great excitement. The match between the two teams ended in a goalless draw at the scheduled time. Later Bangladesh Television won the match 4-1 in the tiebreaker. Mehdi Hasan was selected as the man of the match. Dainik Kalbela beat News24 channel by 3-0. Ruhul Amin was selected as the man of the match with two goals.
BanglaNews24 beat SA Television with Tamim Hasan’s only goal. Dainik Jugantar defeated Dainik Janakantha with Majharul Islam’s only goal. Besides, RTV got a walkover against Bangladesh daily.
