Dharamshala: Captain Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill scored centuries against England in the fifth Test. Rohit completed his 12th Test century from 154 balls. Gill reached 100 off 137 balls. When play continued in the first session on the second day, India stood at 262 for the loss of one wicket.
India started batting on the second day with 135 runs for the loss of one wicket. With the batting power of Rohit and Gill, India’s lead in the first innings was 44 runs. Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal was out after scoring 57 runs off 58 balls.
After winning the toss, England were bowled out for 218 runs in the first innings. Kuldeep Yadav took five wickets for India. R. is playing the 100th Test in his career. Ashwin took four wickets.
