October is celebrated worldwide as breast cancer awareness month. In Armenia this month, the Ministry of Health has implemented many measures aimed at timely diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.
The month-long awareness campaigns were concluded today with a march.
During the march, Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan gave information leaflets to the passers-by, emphasizing in his conversation that cancer is not a sentence, only that it should be detected at an early stage, so it is very important to find strength and will and undergo all examinations on time.
The minister also noted that within the framework of the state order, events are being carried out not only in Yerevan, but also in the marzes. In Lori and Tavush, women aged 50 to 69 have already undergone a free mammogram thanks to the mobile mammogram of the Ministry of Health. Mammograph is now in Syunik region.
Events to fight against breast cancer will not be limited only to October.
In all months of the year, the Ministry of Health will continue to implement many programs aimed at the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
It should be noted that 12,592 women are fighting cancer in Armenia, about 1,300 new cases are confirmed in our country every year.
