Taskin Ahmed touched the milestone of 100 wickets in ODIs by dismissing Kusal Mendis and Charith Asalanka in the second match against Sri Lanka in Chittagong. This pacer is the eighth bowler in the cricket history of Bangladesh to score a century of wickets.
Bangladesh’s former pace bowling coach Allan Donald did not fail to congratulate his pupil on reaching the milestone. Congratulating Taskin who took 100 wickets in 72 ODIs, the famous Donald said, ‘I congratulate you for reaching the milestone of 100 wickets in ODI cricket, Taskin. You are the leader of the team’s pace unit, who works hard behind the scenes. I wish you to touch many more such milestones in the future.’
Before Taskin, spinner Abdur Razzaq, Mohammad Rafiq, pacer Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Rubel Hossain, spinner Shakib Al Hasan, pacer Mostafizur Rahman and spinner Mehdi Hasan Miraj reached the milestone of 100 wickets.
Taskin, who became the eighth bowler to take 100 wickets in ODIs, has taken five wickets twice in his career. He took four wickets four times.
Allan Donald left Bangladesh after the 2023 ODI World Cup. He did not renew the contract with the Bangladesh Cricket Board due to morale. Currently, he is serving as the pace bowling coach of DP World Lions, a domestic league team in his home country of South Africa.
