Focusing on the unique action “Janissaries and Boules” thousands of people visited today Naoussa at the height of Halloween.
In the morning, at the traditional building of the group “Jennissarios and Boules”, former sesame mill “Maki”, area “Batania” there was the established reference to the history and function of the “Jennissarios and Boules” custom and a guided tour of the traditional building, then to the town hall of Naoussa , the “pilgrimage” took place.
Four packsone of the “Davelis” group and three of the “Jenissaries and Boules” group, successively received permission from the mayor of the Heroic City of Naoussa, Nikos Koutsoyiannis, and followed their designated route in the city.
In the afternoon in Alonia Square, the “face” is performed, a dance with the participation of the whole world that follows the boulukia in the most emotional part of the custom from Alonia to the crooked plane tree, where the children and the companions of the boulukia sing the traditional patinades .
It should be noted that in the center of Naoussa, the traditional patina in the streets of the city by the folklore clubs of Naoussa and guest clubs from Greece, in the 7th Primary School there was a traditional feast with Pontic music with the participation of well-known artists from the Pontian Black Club of Naoussa, while in Karatas Square the Halloween celebration of the municipality of Hroiki was held Town of Naoussa with a musical concert and traditional feast by the “Band of Stavros Pazarentsis”.
On Clean Monday, the custom of “Jenissaries and Boules” takes place, with a free march of the bouloukis in the city without the “face”, while traditional “Kouluma” with bean salad, lagana, Lenten food will be celebrated at 11:00 in the T.K.
