The head coach of the Armenian national team, Alexander Petrakov, spoke at the post-match press conference about the draw with the Turkish team in the 5th round of the Euro-2024 qualifying round.
“I think a draw was the result that should have been. I am satisfied with the commitment of the boys. After the game, when I entered the dressing room, they were sad, they were not happy with the game, but I think we are on the right track, the players trust the coaching staff and do what we say,” he said.
Petrakov emphasized that he came to help Armenia, the Armenian people, who treat him very well.
“It was difficult for Nair Tiknizyan, he was doing a lot of work, there was a constant attack on his position. One person cannot be blamed. The error was chained. Tiknizyan did not make the assist. Before that, he scored against Latvia. It’s football. Of course, people make mistakes and get tired. I will never blame my football player. I thanked him for the game. He understands everything himself, he was sitting sadly. With all my heart, I wish him success in the match against Croatia,” said the head coach of the national team.
