Cardiovascular diseases have the highest mortality rate worldwide. “Dyslipidemia. modern approaches to diagnosis and management” scientific event.
Welcoming the initiative, Deputy Minister of Health Armen Nazaryan noted that the work being done to prevent cardiovascular diseases is in the center of attention of the Ministry of Health.
“Expectations are also high from the working group for the treatment and prevention of cardiovascular diseases created by the order of the minister. The team includes system professionals. Thanks to their work, the problems of the sector will be raised as much as possible, and as a result of their consistent solution, we will have an increase in the quality of treatment and improvement of the health indicators of the population,” Armen Nazaryan noted.
The deputy minister also highlighted the importance of conducting public health awareness campaigns in order to reduce the risk factors of non-communicable diseases.
Hamlet Hayrapetyan, adviser on cardiology of the Ministry of Health, president of the Association of Cardiologists of Armenia, also referred to the importance of prevention, management and treatment of dyslipidemias as a factor in reducing cardiovascular diseases and, in general, mortality.
Experts in the field presented reports, presented the epidemiology, causes and diagnosis of dyslipidemia, as well as new guidelines for the management of dyslipidemia. It was also noted that some of the risk factors for cardiovascular diseases are manageable, such as smoking, alcohol abuse, poor diet, obesity, and high blood pressure.
