The shocking events began on Monday, April 8, around 5:30 a.m., when police received a report that the body of an eight-month-old girl and her nine-year-old sister had been found near the highway.
When the medics arrived, they declared the baby dead, and took the nine-year-old to the hospital.
Police found their mother’s body about 25 kilometers away. She killed herself by crashing her car into a tree.
The girls’ mother, as reported by the Daily Mail, was 34-year-old Danielle Johnson, who brutally murdered her partner, 29-year-old Jaelen Allen Chaney, in the family’s luxury apartment.
He was found by a neighbor who noticed blood flowing through the door of the apartment.
On Tuesday, Los Angeles police officials provided more information about the tragedy.
Investigators revealed that on Monday, around two o’clock in the morning, there was a conflict between D. Johnson and JAChaney, which ended in the man’s death – the 34-year-old woman stabbed her partner with a knife.
Los Angeles police said the bloody knife Johnson used to kill JAChaney was found in the home.
After the murder, the woman fled the apartment together with her two daughters.
Mr. Johnson’s car was spotted on the highway around 5:30 a.m. when witnesses saw a baby and a young girl being thrown from the moving car.
An eight-month-old baby died at the scene as a result of his injuries, while a nine-year-old girl, whose injuries were not serious, survived.
Johnson then drove south toward Redondo Beach. She is believed to have been traveling at over 160km/h when she crashed into a tree at the junction.
Matthew Chiricas – JAChaney’s grieving brother – told the Daily Mail that the deceased loved the nine-year-old daughter of Johnson’s previous marriage as his own daughter: “He never liked children, but I know she was very dear to him.”
It is still unclear why the woman killed her boyfriend.
A relative of Johnson, who did not want her name published, said the 34-year-old woman was a housewife.
“When I spoke to her last month, I thought everything was fine,” said a shocked relative of the woman.
A neighbor noticed the blood
Neighbors claimed that the couple and their two little girls had been living in the luxury apartment for a little over a year.
One neighbor confirmed to ABC7 that she heard the altercation during the night.
The next morning, she noticed blood outside the apartment.
“Their door was open, there was a lot of blood on the floor and blood had already flowed down the corridor to the lift. I also saw blood on the walls,” said the witness.
Her father called 911.
“I called the police and said that something is wrong here,” said the man. – When I spoke to the paramedics, they told me to enter the apartment and check if the man is still alive. I did so. He was dead, lying face down on the floor. There was a lot of blood around him.”
He mentioned difficulties
Mr. Chiric said that he and his brother were in contact from time to time, but they never shared the details of their relationship.

M. Chiricas said that when his brother was serving in Italy, he traveled around Europe with his girlfriend.

The police have not yet disclosed the motive for his murder and the cause of D. Johnson’s death.
The woman’s older daughter is now being cared for by child rights specialists.
