Murillo Karam leaves the prison to complete his process in house arrest

The former Attorney General, Jesús Murillo Karam, left the Reclusorio Sur prison on April 12 of this year, to complete his legal process under house arrest.

Jesús Murillo Karam, former Attorney General of the Republic, was accused of the crimes of torture, forced disappearance and administration of justice in the case of the 43 normalistas of Ayotzinapa; He will now continue his process at home after having been granted house arrest due to his conditions.

Murillo Karam must be discharged from the Tepepan Hospital before he is transferred to his residence located in Las Lomas de Chapultepec, Miguel Hidalgo mayor’s office, corresponding to the Mexico City.

The control judge Juan José Hernández, of the Federal Criminal Justice Center of the Reclusorio Sur, was in charge of granting the change of precautionary measure to house arrest, due to the age and state of health of Murillo Karam.

According to the media, Jesús Murillo left the South Prison aboard an ambulance that took him to the Tepepan Hospital, waiting to be discharged to complete his process at home.

The person involved has 24 hours to hand over their passport and visa, in addition to carrying the tracking device at all times and is not allowed to approach an airport.

He will also be under constant surveillance by the National Guard and the Attorney General’s Office (FGR), in addition to that he will not be able to have contact with people related to the case and they will keep records of his visits.
