He Electoral Institute of Mexico City (IECM) He highlighted the importance of candidates for mayors and deputies knowing and answering the questions of girls, boys and adolescents, so that minors will have a participation during the debates organized by the Institute.
The IECM highlighted that during this exercise, which will take place from April 15 to May 24, members of KeVe City will participate, which is an observatory of childhood, adolescence and youth convened and accompanied by the capital’s electoral authority.
The format of the debates for mayors and migrant deputation will be developed as follows: Initial message (by draw), development of Topic 1 (to be defined), Opening (by draw) and Time Pool (request by show of hands). Afterwards, development of Topic 2 (to be defined), Opening (by draw) and Time Pool (request by show of hands).
Subsequently, the candidates must answer a question posed by girls, boys and adolescents, which will be announced until the day of the debate. Finally, the participants will issue a final message.
For the debates to Relative Majority and Proportional Representation Deputations, it will be carried out in this way: Initial message (by draw), development of the Topic, Opening (by draw) and Time Pool (request by show of hands).
They must also respond to a question posed by children and adolescents, which will be known until the day of the debate. Then they will broadcast their final message.
The signal generated for the transmission of these meetings will be made available to all radio and television media, as well as internet portals and social networks.
The capital’s electoral referee highlighted that in accordance with Article 24 of the local Constitution, minors and young people have the right, as part of their civic education, to participate in electoral observation and in the making of public decisions that are made in the family, school, social, community or any other spheres in which they develop, affect them or are of interest to them.
