With the objective of maintaining the preservation and maintenance of the quality of its beaches, the Government of Isla Mujeres installed the “Blue Flag” 2023-2024 Operating Committee.
The ceremony took place in the council room, where representatives from various departments, the tourism sector, civil associations and the island community gathered.
This seeks to establish solid coordination between the Federal Maritime Zone (Zofemat) Isla Mujeres and the different departments involved. This will allow concrete actions to be taken to maintain the certification of Playa Centro and Playa Norte, two of the main tourist attractions of the destination.
During the installation ceremony, important agreements were made that outline the responsibilities of each participating management. Likewise, a detailed presentation of the Blue Flag Certificate was made, highlighting the quality standards and criteria that must be met to maintain said distinction.
