The general secretary of the ruling “Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia” party, the mayor of Tbilisi, Kakha Kaladze, has stated that they will be harmed if a ban is imposed on the export of Georgian goods to Russia. He also spoke against the unfriendly attitude towards tourists from Russia.
“What is the need to ban tourists from Russia from coming to Georgia and spending money here or what is the need to limit the export of goods produced in Georgia to Russia, not to take them to the Russian market?” Why do we have to restrict all that, who are we restricting? ourselves, and we are again putting the peasant in front of a difficult situation,” Kaladze said during the briefing.
He also reaffirmed the position of the Georgian government not to impose sanctions on Russia.
“Georgia does not plan to impose sanctions on Russia, but it cannot allow itself, for example, to cooperate with international companies against which restrictions have been imposed,” said Kakha Kaladze.
