Although they have not been broken, at least for now, Israel and the palestinian islamist movement Hamas accuse each other of trying to sabotage their talks hints of truce in the Gaza Strip.

Hamas announced on Saturday its response to the last proposal of the mediators, at a time when Iran launched an attack on Israel.

Without openly rejecting that proposal, he reaffirmed his main demands, which Israel categorically opposes: a permanent ceasefire and the Army withdrawal Israeli from that Palestinian territory.

In the last 24 hours, 43 people died in Gaza, according to a balance released by the Ministry of health of the enclave, which reported 33,729 deaths since October 7.

The Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, accused Hamas of being “the only obstacle” to an agreement that “allows the release of the hostages” held in Gaza and reiterated his “opposition to these unfounded demands.”

Furthermore, he stated that Hamas “rejected the general outlines” of the Cairo plan, negotiated by Qatar, Egypt and the United States.

The plan presented in Cairo provides for a six-week truce, an exchange of some forty Israeli hostages for hundreds of Palestinian prisoners, increased humanitarian aid to Gaza and the return of the inhabitants of the north of the Palestinian territory displaced by the war.
