An Iranian official warned that Tehran may review its nuclear doctrine in light of Israeli threats.
The semi-official Tasnim news agency quoted a senior Iranian Revolutionary Guard commander as saying that Iran may review its “nuclear doctrine” in light of Israeli threats, adding, “Our hands are on the trigger and the Israeli nuclear facilities have been identified.”
The source indicated that Iranian nuclear sites are “completely safe” amid Israeli threats.
Iran temporarily closed its nuclear facilities last Sunday, “for security considerations,” and the International Atomic Energy Agency kept its inspectors outside the country for two days.
A third former Israeli intelligence official said targeting nuclear facilities in Iran is among the options on the table, while Israel decides how to respond to Saturday’s attack.
In response to a question about whether everything was on the table, including targeting nuclear facilities, former Mossad intelligence director Zohar Balti said: “No doubt.” Everything is on the table now.”
When asked if that included nuclear facilities, he said: “It includes everything.”
The Iranian attack on Israel came after an Israeli raid on the Iranian consulate in Damascus.
