I really like performing in Baku, it has the best gymnastics arena.

Alexandra Kiroi-Bogatyreva, a participant in the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup in Baku, an athlete from Australia, told Trend about this on Saturday, Day.Az reports.

“Soon I will be qualifying for the Olympic Games and every start is very important, I try to do my job, but, of course, we all worry, we worry, it’s not easy. Today I made a mistake in one event, but now I know what needs to be changed, over than to work. The World Cup in Baku is going on a good note for me,” the athlete said.

Alexandra Kiroi-Bogatyreva noted that her mother supports her at the World Cup in Baku.

“I always feel her support. My dad is a photographer, so he is often present at competitions for work. Sometimes during the run, my dad stands in front of the podium, but I don’t notice him because I’m only thinking about the exercise. It’s always nice to have family nearby. Of course “, for me, coaches are the main critics, but, of course, my mother’s opinion is extremely important to me. My mother is a former ballet dancer, and she gives me a lot of advice on issues related to artistry,” noted Kiroy-Bogatyreva.

The gymnast, who has been living and training in Azerbaijan for several years, said that the current competition is her fifth World Cup.

“Azerbaijani coaches gave me the ball program. This is now my favorite event, but at the moment it is a little more difficult because it is a little different style. I’m trying to show my best, I hope I will perform well at the European Championships and the Oceania Championships,” – she emphasized.

Speaking about communication with Azerbaijani gymnasts, Alexandra Kiroy-Bogatyreva emphasized that her best friends live in Baku.

“I am friends with all the gymnasts – both adults and juniors. I communicate very warmly with Zohra Agamirova and team members in group exercises. I feel great support from both Azerbaijani coaches and gymnasts. For me, they are my family, and always in my heart. At the last world championship in rhythmic gymnastics in Valencia, Zohra had a selection for the Olympic Games, I was very worried about her, I think now Zohra will also be worried, because it’s my turn to win a license for the Olympic Games,” added Alexandra Quiroy. Bogatyreva.

It should be noted that the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup is taking place at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku on April 19-21. Over 110 gymnasts from more than 40 countries take part in the competition. Gymnasts perform in a program of individual and group exercises.

Azerbaijan is represented at the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup by Zohra Agamirova and Kamilla Seidzade in the individual program, as well as a team in group exercises consisting of Gullyu Agalarzade, Kamilla Aliyeva, Elizaveta Luzan, Daria Sorokina, Lyaman Alimuradova and Zeinab Gummetova.
