(Babar Shahzad Turk) The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ibrahim Raisi, arrived in Islamabad today on a 3-day official visit to Pakistan.
According to the details, Federal Minister Riyaz Hussain Pirzada welcomed the distinguished guest on the arrival of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ibrahim Raisi in Pakistan.
The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran will stay in Pakistan until April 24. Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi is accompanied by his wife Jamila Alam Al-Hadi. Foreign Minister Hussain Amir Abdullahian also reached Pakistan along with the Iranian President.
Along with the Iranian president, a large delegation of 30 to 40 people has also arrived in Islamabad. The delegation includes several Iranian ministers, political and economic officials and media representatives.
According to diplomatic sources, this is the first visit of an Iranian president to any country after the Iran-Israel conflict. Ibrahim Raisi is the first head of state to visit Pakistan after the elections and the establishment of a new government.
The Iranian President will be presented with a guard of honor at the Prime Minister’s House today. Dr. Ibrahim Raisi and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will have an individual meeting at the Prime Minister’s House. Negotiations will be held, 7 to 8 Pakistan-Iran MoUs will be signed at the Prime Minister House, both leaders will give a policy statement which will be broadcast live, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif will host a luncheon in honor of the guest President and his delegation.
Apart from this, the Iranian President will meet with the Speaker of the National Assembly, the Chairman of the Senate and several ministers in a private hotel today. Dinner will be given in honor of the President. Tonight, the Iranian President will meet President Asif Ali Zardari in the President’s House. There is also a possibility of meeting with the Chief of the Armed Forces, Syed Asim Munir, while the President will give a dinner in honor of the Iranian delegation.
Diplomatic sources further say that Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi will arrive in Lahore tomorrow morning. In Lahore, the Iranian President will have meetings with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and Punjab Governor Balighur Rehman. Ibrahim Raisi will pay a visit to Allama Iqbal’s shrine, after which the Iranian president will arrive in Karachi tomorrow afternoon.
In Karachi, the Iranian President will have meetings with Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and Sindh Governor Kamran Tesori, President Ibrahim Raisi will visit the Mazar-i-Quaid in Karachi, the Iranian President will be given lunch by the Governor of Sindh and a business forum will be held in Karachi. I will also participate.
Diplomatic sources say that the Iranian president will stay in Karachi for the night. After the end of the visit, a joint statement will be issued in Karachi. The Iranian president will leave for Sri Lanka on Wednesday. After the tense situation in January, a high-level visit will help build positive confidence in a free Iran.
During the visit, progress will be made on common challenges including counter-terrorism, human trafficking, Pak-Iran Free Trade Agreement.
Promotion of Pak-Iran ferry service and maritime cooperation will also be reviewed, border management including establishment of new free trade and economic zones, border markets will be discussed, Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline will also be discussed. It is likely that the situation in Afghanistan will also be considered. Both Pakistan and Iran are being affected by the current situation in Afghanistan.
Diplomatic sources say that Pakistan and Iran have the same position on the situation in Gaza. Iran has always supported Pakistan and Kashmiris on the Kashmir issue. Both countries have similar positions against Islamophobia. More pilgrims visit Iran to visit holy places, efforts are underway to increase the mutual trade volume between the two countries to 5 billion dollars, the agenda of the recent visit is mutual trust building, mutual relations and mutual cooperation.
According to diplomatic sources, Jamila Alam Al-Hadi, the wife of the Iranian President, will be limited in her official engagements. Jamila Alam Al-Hadi will visit a university and Pakistan Sweet Homes.

Diplomatic sources further say that the visit of the Iranian head of state has nothing to do with the Iran-Israel tension. The visit of the Iranian president was scheduled months ago during the visit of the Iranian foreign minister.
The spokesman of the Foreign Office has said that during the visit, the Iranian President will meet with his Pakistani counterpart, the Prime Minister, the Chairman of the Senate and the Speaker of the National Assembly. The Iranian President is also expected to meet with the provincial leadership.
