Breakout Launch Trailer

‘Escape’, which will be released in July, is a movie depicting the life-threatening chase between Gyu-nam, a North Korean soldier who begins an escape for tomorrow, and Hyeon-sang, an officer of the National Security Agency who chases after Gyu-nam to protect today.

The launch poster shows a confrontation between Gyu-nam (played by Lee Je-hoon), a 10-year North Korean soldier who dreams of escaping to South Korea, and Hyeon-sang (played by Koo Kyo-hwan), a North Korean security officer who pursues him to prevent Gyu-nam’s escape.

This raises curiosity about the breathless run and chase that will unfold between the two characters with their own goals. The sight of Gyu-nam and Hyeon-sang looking at each other with expressions that put everything on the line with the phrases “I’m going my own way” and “This is your destiny” symbolizes the confrontation that will unfold between characters who make different choices within a predetermined fate. It makes you look forward to their emotional acting.

Next, the poster with the copy “Run for tomorrow” and “Chase for today” and a scene of constant chasing and being chased against the background of the demilitarized zone, shows the outcome of the choices of Gyu-nam, who chases ‘tomorrow’, and Hyeon-sang, who tries to protect ‘today’. The visuals that capture the dynamic moments of the chase action add to curiosity.
The launching trailer released together draws attention by showing Gyu-nam and Hyeon-sang engaging in a life-or-death chase at the border between South and North Korea. Hyun-hyeon chases Gyu-nam fiercely, warning, “No one can get out of here alive,” and Gyu-nam runs toward a new life, shouting his firm promise, “Even if I die, I die, and even if I live, I live.” The appearance of these two people creates a tension that cannot be taken away, making people look forward to the dynamic drama and non-stop chase action that they will show.

Lee Je-hoon and Koo Kyo-hwan collaborated for the first time through ‘Escape’, raising expectations for their acting chemistry. Lee Je-hoon and Koo Kyo-hwan, who showed an unrivaled presence with solid acting skills, are raising curiosity about how they will present three-dimensional characters who undergo intense emotional changes during the escape and chase process.

In addition, ‘Escape’ is a new work by director Lee Jong-pil, who delivered a message of sympathy and comfort through the movie ‘Samjin Group English TOEIC Class’ and the series ‘Park Ha-kyung’s Travels’. By dramatically depicting the characters’ extreme confrontations, it will not only provide genre fun but also convey a message that everyone can relate to.

‘Escape’ will be released in July.
