Jaipur: This time the government has changed the rules in the process of taking admission in private schools under the Right to Education Act. Due to the change in rules, the dreams of parents of thousands of children in the state have been ruined. Due to the new rule, thousands of parents will not be able to fill the application form for admission under RTE. Till now, admission of children was done in the first class in which any child below 6 years of age was eligible to apply, but now different rules for age limit have been made. In such a situation, thousands of children will be deprived of admission. These days online applications are being filled under RTE. The last date of application is 29 April.
Understand the problem of new rules here
Actually, earlier admissions were taken under RTE only in the first class, but now the admission process has been started from pre-primer class i.e. nursery only. Two categories have been created for admission in private schools. One in nursery class and the other in first class. For admission in nursery class, the age of the child should be between three to four years. Whereas for admission in the first class, the age of the child should be between six to seven years. Due to this rule, children between the age of four to six years will not be able to apply for any class. This rule has created a lot of trouble for the parents.
Free education to 25 percent children
Under RTE, 25 percent students in private schools are provided free education. For this, the admission process starts from nursery and first class. Once admitted, students are provided free education till class 12. The state government bears the fees of these 25 percent students of private schools. The amount fixed by the government. Its payment is made directly to the school operators.
Admission is done through lottery
Documents are scrutinized after online application. Applications are currently being filled. Applications can be filled till 29th April and then the documents will be scrutinized till 15th May. After this, lottery will be drawn for eligible students. Schools will be allotted on priority basis on the basis of lottery.
