Hockey players from Pardubice beat Třinec 3:0 in the fifth game of the extra league playoff final. They lead 3:2 in the series and on Friday they can celebrate their seventh title on the ice of Ocelarů.

Dynamo gained a key lead against the reigning champions, who are seeking their fifth Masaryk Cup in a row, in the second period. Within five minutes, Lukáš Radil, Lukáš Sedlák and Martin Kaut scored. Goalkeeper Roman Will kept a clean sheet for the third time in the playoffs.

“We played a very good game, the second period was great. We converted the chances we had. Roman Will was excellent. He supported us when we needed it. He had two great saves. We have a point, which is very important,” said the Pardubice coach Marek Zadina.

Striker Růžička appeared fully in the finals for the first time in the guest lineup, and his team had more of the game in the first period, and at the same time created the most significant opportunities. Dravecký threatened from a quick counterattack.

When Vondráček was sent off, Hudáček shot dangerously, Nestrašil had a chance to score. Will managed to move and eliminated the stop in the open goal with the catcher.

“I thought I had to hit it quickly, towards the post and up. But maybe I should have taken a step. The goalkeeper caught it brilliantly,” said Andrej Nestrašil. “These are exactly the moments that break the match. He supported us perfectly,” praised Willa Sedlák.

At the turn of the first and second periods, Dynamo also played their first power play, but just like the opponent, they were unable to use it. The closest to opening the score was Radil, but Kacetl managed to finish it.

One of the three commemorators of the last Pardubice title 12 years ago in the Východočech team scored a goal in the middle of the game. After a quick counterattack and Zohorn’s pass from behind the goal, he opened the scoring with a quick shot.

“We had some chances before, but Káca (Ondřej Kacetl) made a great move. In the second period, I managed to finish, even though the shot didn’t quite fit. But that’s part of it, sometimes a goal like that falls,” said Radil, who scored his fifth goal in the playoffs.

95 seconds later, the home team led 2-0. After another pass from behind the goal, this time from Hyka, captain Sedlák increased the ball. Dynamo’s successful stretch was underlined in the 35th minute by Kaut, who shot through Kacetl for the third time in a shortened power play. Mazanec then stood in the Třinec goal.

With a three-goal lead, the home team tried to play simply and responsibly, the Steelers, on the other hand, pushed themselves into attack. In the middle of the final part, Dynamo did not use the advantage in numbers, but it did not have to be a regret. It certainly brought the match to a victorious end.
