The town hall meeting proposed by Chairman Chung Eui-sun was held at the new headquarters of the India headquarters in Delhi, with executives including Hyundai Motor Company President Jang Jae-hoon, India Asia and Middle East region vice president Kim Un-soo, and about 400 executives and employees of Hyundai Motor Company’s India region headquarters in attendance.

First, expand production capacity. Hyundai Motor Company is working on a new factory project in Pune with a capacity of more than 200,000 units, and Kia Motors will also expand its production capacity to 431,000 units in the first half of this year.

The Pune plant, located in Maharashtra, India, was acquired from GM last year. By applying Hyundai Motor Company’s smart manufacturing system, facility improvements are being made to a base capable of producing more than 200,000 units.

When the Pune plant is completed in the second half of next year, Hyundai Motor Company will establish a production system of 1 million units centered around the Chennai plant (824,000 units) and the Pune plant.
