Islamabad: Pakistan has become nervous after the statements of Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Foreign Minister S Jaishankar on Pakistan occupied Kashmir. Pakistan’s Foreign Department issued a statement on Friday, terming the statements of Indian leaders as provocative and saying that their statements on occupied Jammu and Kashmir have led to a worrying increase. According to the report of Pakistani media portal Dawn, Pakistani Foreign Department spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch in Islamabad said, we are witnessing a worrying increase in the inflammatory statements of Indian leaders making unjustified claims on Azad Jammu and Kashmir. He said, Pakistan rejects these claims. However, the Pakistani spokesperson neither took the name of any Indian leader nor mentioned any specific statement. Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh had said on Sunday that seeing the development taking place in India, the people of Pakistan occupied Kashmir will themselves demand to join India. Rajnath Singh was addressing an election rally in Siliguri. He said, PoK was ours, is ours and will remain so in future also. He also said that India is making great progress in the defense sector. The country which was once an importer is now turning into an exporter of defense equipment. Recently India has handed over BrahMos missile to the Philippines.
Jaishankar had claimed PoK
Earlier this month, India’s Foreign Minister Jaishankar had also reiterated India’s claim regarding POK in a statement. Speaking to the media on April 4, Jaishankar had said, we will never accept that Pakistan Occupied Kashmir is not an integral part of India. When it comes to Pakistan the main issue is terrorism. As a party and government, we are very clear about terrorism that we will not ignore it. When terrorism occurs, we will deal with it and respond instead of looking away.
