Frank-Walter Steinmeier has been re-elected President of Germany.
Members of the lower house of parliament and representatives from 16 provinces voted in favor of the special session of the German parliament to elect a president. Frank-Walter Steinmeier was elected President for the second time by a majority of votes.
Speaking after being elected President, Frank Steinmeier spoke on the issue of the Ukraine-Russia conflict. He called on Russia to withdraw its troops stationed on the Ukrainian border and called for peace in European countries.
