At the end of his strength and with last pleas for more deferments to creditors and workers. This is how a large part of the representatives of the agricultural sector in Kyustendilsko, among them livestock breeders, grain producers and fruit growers, describe their situation at the moment.
“The livestock sector is currently on the brink of complete collapse. Everyone has taken food in advance, in the form of grain, and I cannot pay them back,” said Anton Todorov, a livestock breeder.
“I see on the ads that entire farms are being sold, together with equipment, bases and fields. The aid that will eventually be paid, the so-called “Ukrainian aid”, I think is quite late,” said Rosen Yosifov – a grain producer.
In addition to the fact that the payment of the Ukrainian aid will be delayed for almost another month, fruit growers in the region also report a delay in all other subsidies in the agricultural sector, writes BNT.
“When there are such delays and we are increasingly unable to service our loans, which are in line with aid and subsidies, at some point you start to think about whether… we are in the right field,” explained Milen Georgiev – fruit grower.
And after the meeting held between the official authority, the unions and a large part of representatives of the “agriculture” sector, according to the animal breeders, money for April 22 was not foreseen.
“It turns out that in the end, the money that should have been allocated is not in the national budget, nor in the agricultural fund, and now I don’t know where they found it. For June 15, I assume that it will be paid, because the option is June 9 and tension will be created around the elections if they are not paid,” emphasized Valery Yovev – livestock breeder.
If on May 15 the money from the promised aid is not paid, the protests and blockades will be restored throughout the country, the agricultural branch added.
