The sudden road accident of son Nibir changed all the calculations of the life of veteran musician Kumar Biswajit. Kumar Biswajit’s only child has been undergoing treatment at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, Canada for 14 months. The good news is that Nibir has opened his eyes after a long time.

Kumar Biswajit flew to Canada after receiving the news of the road accident. He stayed there for 14 months. He came to Bangladesh on April 18. After returning to the country, the son’s physical condition has improved and told a national media.

Kumar Biswajit said, ‘So many months lying in the hospital bed was intense. Now the patient can be lifted and placed in a chair. Neck turns, limbs are flexible. After lying in bed for so long, the hands and feet became numb. Being put on a chair for a couple of months. Everything is happening slowly, very slowly. But he is still being fed artificially.’

Look closely now. Referring to this information, Kumar Biswajit said, “Neebir’s expression seems to know his parents. 360 degree rotation at times. When Nibirka says, ‘Father is coming, Mother is coming’, it is understood, knows us. When mom says, ‘Do you recognize us?’ I can see his expression then, maybe he knows. I am waiting for you to call me father.”

But Nibir is still not fully recovered. His treatment will go through many processes. In this regard, Kumar Biswajit said, ‘ICU’s physical condition is slightly improving. But it is difficult to say when it will be fully recovered. Still have to stay in hospital. After I go to Canada, I will be taken to rehab from the hospital.’

After rehab, intensive physiotherapy, speech therapy, stimulated therapy will be given. These therapies are not done that way in hospitals. Intensive care is no longer in hospitals, so all arrangements must be made to return to Canada for rehab. Rehab time is also long. I have come to arrange some work in the country before the start of therapy.’ Kumar Biswajit said.

It should be noted that on the night of February 13 last year, a terrible road accident occurred near the intersection of Highway 427 and Dundas in the Mississauga area near the city of Toronto. 3 Bangladeshi students named Arian Alam Deepta, Shahriar Khan and Angela Baroi were killed in this.
