The appearance of his name ahead of the simultaneous regional elections automatically changed the political map of the main province of Papua.
Paulus Waterpauw has an excellent track record in Papua, from his career in the police to government.
Carrying the tagline #Servingforthecountry, made the name Paulus Waterpauw increasingly popular among the Papuan people.
The Hanura Party is one of the parties that is now starting to highlight Paulus’ name.
“Initially we knew he was in West Papua, but with the appearance of big billboards now, the political map will definitely change because many people know about PW’s popularity. “In my opinion, the (political) map is changing,” said Deputy Chairman of the Hanura Papua DPD, Davis Kambuaya, when contacted Monday (29/4).
According to Davis, Paulus Waterpauw also has the opportunity to win the Papua Regional Election. All that remains is to determine who the representative will accompany him.
“Currently, all the contestants are still candidates and are waiting for political party recommendations, they just have to decide who the 02 will be,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Election Winning Division of the DPP Golkar for Papua, Marthinus Werimon, said that Golkar is currently conducting a survey of the right cadres and figures who have high publicity and electability for the simultaneous regional elections, including in Papua.
“It all depends on the survey results and the party considers the extent of a figure’s electability,” he explained.
When asked about the figure of Paulus Waterpauw in the Papua Regional Election market, the appearance of 2 large billboards in Jayapura City and Regency, as well as the presence of voices from the public regarding Paulus Waterpauw, will be taken into consideration by the party.
“Obviously the appearance of these 2 billboards will be a consideration for the party and will continue to be carried out through surveys regarding the electability of a figure,” he said. (mcr30/jpnn)
