Province of Larache: Multidisciplinary medical caravan for the benefit of the inhabitants of the commune of Tazrout

This initiative, carried out under the supervision of the prefecture of the province of Larache, in partnership with the municipality of Tazrout, is part of the “Riaya 2023-2024” operation, carried out from November 15, 2023 to March 30, 2024. in execution of the High Royal Instructions, aimed at strengthening local health services for populations in areas affected by the cold wave.

This caravan, launched in the presence of the governor of the province of Larache, Bouassam El Alamine, provincial and local authorities, as well as elected officials, was supervised by a staff made up of 51 medical and nursing executives, including 14 specialist doctors, 10 general practitioners and 15 nurses, in addition to administrative and technical executives.

In a statement to the press, the provincial delegate of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection in Larache, Dr. Chawki Oumirrane, stressed that this initiative is part of the “Riaya 2023-2024” operation aimed at to strengthen local health services for populations in areas affected by the cold wave.

The manager specified that this medical caravan aims to provide consultations in general medicine, pediatrics, dermatology, endocrinology, cardiology, traumatology, gynecology, ophthalmology and general surgery, in addition to early detection of breast and cervical cancers, diabetes and high blood pressure, emphasizing that this initiative targets around 1,000 people.

He indicated that this operation is also punctuated by an action to raise awareness of oral health for the benefit of students, vision correction, and the distribution of medicines, noting that this medical caravan will make a stopover in the coming days. , in the El Qola commune.

For his part, the president of the commune of Tazrout, Ahmed El Wahabi, indicated that this caravan aims to ensure an adequate response to the health care needs of the inhabitants of this commune affected by the cold wave, noting that this initiative aims also to pay the necessary attention to vulnerable groups and bring medical services closer to them, as well as to strengthen the availability of care and awareness-raising actions in target areas.

It should be noted that six municipalities in the province of Larache will benefit, as part of this operation, from the activities of mobile medical units, namely Tazrout, El Qola, Zaaroura, Beni Gorfet, Beni Arous and Boujidiane.
