Australia has announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup. However, veteran Steven Smith, young Jack Fraser-McGurk, pacer Jason Behrendorf and all-rounder Matt Short did not have a place in their team.
Aston Agar, who did not play T20 after 2022, got a place in the team. Marcus Stoinis, Tim Davids, Cameron Greene and Glenn Maxwell are expected.
The 15-member team will be led by Mitchell Marsh. He has been promoted to full-time captain from serving as acting captain for the past 12 months.
Australia is in ‘B’ group in this World Cup. Where their opponents are Oman, England, Namibia and Scotland. Their World Cup mission begins with a match against Oman in Barbados on June 5.
