The price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is going to be fixed tomorrow, Thursday (May 2). New price of LPG will be announced for one month on this day.
Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) Secretary Barrister Md. This information was informed in the notification signed by Khalilur Rahman Khan.
According to the notification, Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission’s instructions regarding price adjustment of private LPG at the consumer level for this month will be announced at 2.30 pm on Thursday according to the Saudi CP announced by Saudi Aramco for the month of May (2024).
After eight consecutive months of increase, the price of LPG was reduced at the consumer level on April 3. Compared to the month of March, the price of 12 kg cylinder was reduced by 40 taka to 1 thousand 442 taka in April. Besides, the price of 12 kg cylinder was increased by 8 taka to 1 thousand 482 taka in March, 41 taka increased to 1 thousand 474 taka in February and 29 taka increased to 1 thousand 433 taka in January.
BERC also reduced autogas prices in April. In April, the company fixed the price of autogas at the consumer level at 66 21 paise per liter including musk. In March, the price of autogas at the consumer level was fixed at 68 taka 5 paisa per litre. Last February and January, the prices including musak were fixed at 67 taka 68 paisa and 65 taka 67 paisa respectively.
Note that in 2023, the price of LPG and Autogas decreased by 5 points, and increased by 7 points. The prices of LPG and Autogas decreased in January, March, April, June and July last year. And prices increased in February, May, August, September, October, November and December.
