Great Britain supports the platform, in the effective work and establishment of which the USA and the European Union act as mediators, and also supports the Armenian and Azerbaijani parties to engage in constructive negotiations, believing that the signing of a peace treaty is possible in the near future.

“The fact that today the representatives of Armenia and Azerbaijan are negotiating and discussing extremely important issues is, of course, encouraging. The foreign ministers of the two countries met in Berlin last month, which is a positive step and opens a window of opportunity to advance the peace process. Great Britain encourages direct meetings between the two sides and calls for them to be organized more frequently, being confident that in the presence of a constructive atmosphere, it is possible to discuss the most painful issues,” said the British ambassador.
Referring also to the process of normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations, Gallagher said that Great Britain also supports the parties in this matter.
“The settlement of relations between Armenia and Turkey is of great importance for the region, and specifically it will help Armenia to diversify its foreign policy and become a safer country,” said the diplomat and added that the given conference does not refer only to the process of settlement of Armenian-Turkish relations, but to the main the topic is related to the issue of creating a security agenda in the South Caucasus.
