The Government led by President Gustavo Petro met for two days in Paipa, Boyacá, to analyze progress, reaffirm priorities and review commitments within the framework of the National Development Plan 2022-2026 “Colombia, power of life.”

In a meeting that included the participation of the ministerial cabinetrepresentatives of various State portfolios, and under the leadership of President Petro, the achievements achieved so far and the pending challenges to materialize the goals of social change established in the government plan were evaluated.

At the close of these intense days of work, the Minister of the Interior, Luis Fernando Velasco, the Minister of Labor, Gloria Inés Ramírez, and the national director of Planning, Alexander López, offered a balance of what was discussed and agreed upon.

He Minister Velasco highlighted the government’s commitment to permanent dialogue and active listening to all sectors of societyreaffirming that the primary objective is to govern for all Colombians.

For his part, the Director of Planning, Alexander López, emphasized the doubling of the investment budget from 2023, in order to overcome the country’s historical inequalities. He highlighted significant advances in areas such as economic growth, reducing unemployment and inflation, as well as strengthening tourism and prioritizing health and education.

In In the workplace, Minister Ramírez reiterated the government’s commitment to workers’ rights and called for a May Day march in support of peace, life, social reforms and dignified and decent work.

The Government emphasized that they will continue to promote structural reforms in key sectors such as health, employment and pensions, with the aim of improving the quality of life of all Colombians.
